I Heart Faces: Smiles

I'm sorry - I'm a little obsessed with this picture. When I saw on my facebook news feed that the challenge for this week on I Heart Faces was "Smiles" I nearly flipped my laptop over! Fo-real. Mainly because it was on my lap and I was about to stand in excitement. I get a little carried away.

Look at him. Don't you just wanna tickle him?! If you scroll down after this post, you can see Alexander in all of his smiling glory. What a flirt! ;)

That will be me after this wedding planning and moving out is over. Like a baby chillin' on a blanket, loving life with all smiles. Minus the lack of teeth part :)

My I Heart Faces Challenge

I thought about writing something witty, or entertaining, or... you know, "cool." But, I'm not going to lie -- the fact that 18 mind blowing photographers will be looking at my photo leaves me speechless. Clearly not completely because I'm still typing, but you get the idea! Anyway... my fiance's sister and I get a little crazy with ideas and just start photographing and we did a Carnival theme shoot this past holiday (inside where it was warm of course :). My inspiration for this was an Indian-gypsie theme (what I would give to photograph an Indian wedding!). Though color may seem like a better option... something about creating it black and white made it just jump to me.

Go check out the other entries to see how many people REALLY put themselves out there! This was such an incredible experience... HI JOSE VILLA!!!

Quite the Challenge

So I am relatively new to . It is their birthday and they are celebrating with a BANG! Typically, they choose a winning image of the week and a "Top Favorites" and feature them on their website. However, my little fingers have been editing their hearts out for this week's challenge this entire week.

Because this time not only do you win the ability to shout "YES!! I was chosen!" -- but you also get to high five your little fingers for clicking that picture and editing it for winning a 18-200 Tamron Lens!! Yep!! They are rewarding First Place with a lens!

Challenge? Incorporate the "i heart faces" logo into your picture naturally (or photoshopped ... or photoshopped to "look" natural ;). I poured so much time into these to make them look natural. And let me tell you, creating a natural looking bubble into the form of letters is not easy. However, I took tutorials and learned so much -- so a huge thank you to i heart faces for that and the lack of sleep the past few days. Ok, so maybe the sleep thing is a bad habit ;) There are a few entries that just cracked me up. Check them out after you're done scrolling here!

You're allowed 5 and I chose 4...

#1) Getting ready for a salsa performance.. snapped this one of my team member :)

#2) I love, love, this little girl when I volunteered at Roswell Convoy of Hope. Her striking eyes against her grungy face created an image that to this day I consider a blessed moment to own.

#3) My fiance's sister :)

#4) And this last one. Sigh (: This little girl... she was also at the Roswell Convoy of Hope. However, she was my "front cover" image to my photography website when I first launched it this past Fall. The funny thing is that the "memory" I associate with this complete stranger is the initial mark of my photography journey professionally. I don't even know her name. When I look at this, it reminds me of my sweaty palms when I hit "publish" and my logo "Imaginale" first appeared online. What a rush. She even cut her hair for I heart faces, knowing this day would come ;)

Yummy Sun Flare

Has it been a week already?! Wow! Well, this week's challenge is "Sun Flare." I caught plenty of these with Lauren and Shaun! You remember her beautiful face from the last post?

I can't wait to show you the rest so you can see the way that Shaun looks at Lauren, and Lauren at him. Even her face here shows the comfort of his embrace -- she looks so protected. I think Ray LaMontagne said it best:

"Place your hands on my face
Close my eyes and say
That love is a poor man's food
Don't prophesize
I could hold you in my arms
I could hold you forever"

Now show some love to the other entries! :)

An Autumn Beauty

This week's theme "An Autumn Beauty"

First, let me clarify that YES her eyes are truly this shade of beautiful hazel! I believe with those eyes, that sweater, the cozy hug, and the Fall trees in the back -she embodies an autumn beauty! Lauren's heart is just as beautiful as her face! More on this lovely couple later :)
