Awaken Retreat by Ale Vidal
A sisterhood of women breaking bread and taking part in a hands-on creative playground. A chance to reconnect and strengthen your intuitive self. Think: flower foraging, candle light dinners, fresh locally sourced cuisines, emotion exercises, and designing an intuitive and poetic editorial narrative. All the while drinking in the ancient surroundings of a captivating historical space in Latin America.
Nestled on 250 acres in the Maya countryside outside the colonial city of Merida, Yucatan, Hacienda Petac is located within easy reach of multiple archeological zones that highlight Mayan Art and Culture, including Uxmal and Chichen Itza. Among the many diverse attractions in the region, guests might enjoy an excursion to the crystal clear underwater pools of the Yucatan called cenotes. Or, choose a boat trip through the Flamingo and Wildlife reserve at Celestun. Still waiting, a guided tour to the Mayan archeological sites.
The colonial city of Merida is also close by, offering museums, monuments, parks, markets, shops, restaurants and local entertainment. For beach lovers, the Gulf Coast beckons with deserted beaches, adjacent mangroves and flamingo reserves.
Authentic and uncommonly refined, Hacienda Petac is an enchanting experience. It combines the elegance of a 17th century estate with the luxury of a world class resort, assuring the ultimate in privacy and service for your group.
The estate has 7 beautiful bedrooms on 250 acres of gardens and natural habitat. There is also an exquisite spa, nail salon, and gym pavilion. Throughout the day, families and friends tend to gravitate towards the Casa Principal with its expansive terraces, elegant living rooms, library and well-stocked bar. For other diversions, there is a wonderfully tranquil swimming pool, a well appointed games salon and walking trails.
The morning begins as coffee is presented with a light tap on your 11-foot bedroom door. For the rest of the day delicious snacks and beverages arrive as you swim, relax, work, or play in the game room, spa, or fitness center.
Days unfold seamlessly as your guests move from a book in the library, to breakfast on an outdoor terrace. From a conversation in the living room, to lunch in the dining room, and on to a round of ping-pong in the games salon. Then it’s time for a massage or a soak in the Jacuzzi. Meanwhile, your youngest guests are learning to make a piñata, or setting off on a junior archaeologist’s dig for treasure.
You could have a different section on food, activities involved, still life, styled shoot, excursion, etc.
